Newsweek Ranks The Mount Sinai Hospital Among ‘World’s Best’
“Your executive leadership team continues to be in awe of the work you all do. And we are not the only ones who are impressed. In the latest Newsweek/Statista rankings, experts from around the world have rated our Health System among the very best. Specifically, The Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) was ranked among the “World’s Best Smart Hospitals” and “World’s Best Specialized Hospitals” for 2026.
This kind of recognition takes amazing collaboration and innovation, relentless attention to quality, and a continued focus on providing patient-centered care. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement.
Newsweek/Statista’s “World’s Best Smart Hospitals” 2026 list ranked MSH No. 5 in the world, up from No. 6 last year, and No. 1 among hospitals in New York City. On that same list, Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West were ranked No. 4 in New York City and No. 30 in the world. This ranking looks at how we’re implementing digital technologies, including patient safety technologies.
MSH made the 2026 rankings for “World’s Best Specialized Hospitals” in all 12 specialties and ranked No. 1 in New York State for Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Newsweek/Statista base the rankings on reputation surveys of medical professionals, accreditation data from sources including The Joint Commission, and surveys conducted by Statista specific to each list.
While these latest rankings apply specifically to The Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Morningside, and Mount Sinai West, they reflect the work and support of the entire Health System. They are a testament to your continued commitment to our community and our patients.
Thank you for the work you do daily to earn this distinction and to make all of One Mount Sinai proud.”
